Púbol is a small, pretty medieval village in Baix Empordà that belongs to the municipality of La Pera (Girona), and forms part of the well-known “Dalí Triangle”. Moreover, the 14th century Gothic church of Sant Pere was one of the most outstanding temples in the region until the Civil War (1936), when most of its treasures were destroyed, except for the 15th century Gothic altarpiece, the work of Bernat Martorell, which remains preserved in the Girona Art Museum.
